The committee is made up of all the site agents.

HARLOW Allotment association was formed in 1999 with Harlow Horticultural Society and Harlow Council, with the aim of running the Harlow allotment sites on a self management basis.

Every allotment holder was given the opportunity to agree to stay under council management or to go over to the self management scheme. The result was that 13 out of the then 32 sites in Harlow decided to become self managed.

These were Ash tree fields, Brays mead, Canons brook, Cannons gate, Common Fields, First avenue, Fold croft, Izzards, Mill lane 2, Netteswell common, Nichols field, Ram gorse and Silvesters.
An office was then set up at the Izzards site at Potter street as a base in which to run the affairs of the association.

With the forming of the association it made an active community spirit on the allotment sites, which is still one of the attractions of the association "Community and good spirit".
Some of the sites held social events during the summer months which have been a great success.

In 2003 after seeing the success that self management was achieving a further 3 sites decided to join the association, these were, Mill lane 1, Upper stoneyfield and Water lane.
In 2005 the regenerated Honey hill site was passed over from the council to the association.
In 2007 and in our 8th year the Linford end site will join the association to make 18 association sites.
